Kick the Cold – My Top 5 Tips to Boost Your Immune System.

April 13, 2015 by Tracy

Well it’s that time of year again, the weather’s turning chillier and coughs and colds could well be on the horizon.

As with all health issues and ailments, I’m a firm believer in prevention being key, so today I want to give you my top 5 tips for boosting your immune system enabling you to keep those nasty cold bugs at bay.

  1. Eat beautifully colourful food – These will be rich in antioxidants, which wipe out disease-causing free radicals. Think berries, oranges, spinach, kale. Create a rainbow on the serving platter at meal times to protect you and your family by giving your immune system a boost.
  2. Get garlicky – Garlic is an immune boosting superstar, but raw garlic is better than cooked, so add it in the final preparation of your rainbow meal.
  3. Sleep in – Lack of sleep and stress overload increase your cortisol levels, prolonged elevation of these are known to suppress immune function.
  4. Jump out of bed and get moving – Although it’s tempting to avoid exercise in winter, let’s face it we’d all rather stay huddled in bed, try to stick to your routine. Research has shown that exercise can help strengthen your immune system.
  5. Boost your glutathione levels – Glutathione is the cell’s primary protector and detoxifier. Unfortunately, your cells just can’t make enough of it. The solution is Cellgevity™ which provides your cells with patented nutrients that have been clinically shown to raise intercellular glutathione levels more effectively than any other supplement. READ MORE HERE.

JuiceMy favourite rainbow immune boosting juice…

I’m a great fan of juicing and this one contains a rainbow of fruit and vegetables, rich in vitamins A and C; to help boost your immune system.

  • 2 medium/large carrots
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 large beetroot
  • 2 medium/large lemons, peeled
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root
  • 4 large sticks celery

Process all ingredients through juicer. Add 1/2 cup water. Mix well. Serve immediately.

Not all metal is precious…

March 28, 2015 by Tracy

Today I’m talking about toxic metals, including “Heavy Metals” and how they can have an adverse affect your health.

The Good

Now firstly I don’t want you to think that all metals are necessarily bad… After all, zinc, copper and manganese supplements are all contending for shelf space in health food stores and pharmacies. These are just a few examples of the metals that are essential to biochemical processes that help to keep your body functioning as it should, but only small amounts of these metals are necessary for these metabolic functions to occur.

These metals are found in mineral deposits and soils, they find their way into our systems through our plant and animal food sources, and of course if you know that you’re not getting the appropriate amount of a particular necessary trace metal the aforementioned supplements can be used as an alternative.

The Bad and the Ugly

HeavyMewtalsThere are however, many toxic metals that can build up in the human body over time and cause adverse affects on one’s health. Metal poisoning is much more common than you might think. If you’ve eaten fish regularly, had amalgam dental fillings, received vaccinations, or worked in the industrial, agricultural or pharmaceutical sector, you may have a higher than average amount of toxic metals in your system. Even if none of these apply to you it’s impossible to avoid exposure to toxic metals completely, a few more common sources of heavy metals are cookware, over the counter drugs, refined foods. The key to health protection is to ensure you can detoxify, and rid yourself of these harmful substances.

On a personal note, I’ve discovered through my smartDNA Genomic Wellness report that I am a metal binder, prone to hanging on to these toxic metals, so I have to work much harder at the process of detoxification. The completion of the smartDNA Genomic Wellness test has ensured that I can adapt my lifestyle to avoid health issues that I may be predisposed to. It’s something that I would encourage you to explore, after all “Forewarned is forearmed” – Discover more about the testing process and report HERE.

Here is a list of some of the more common symptoms that can manifest themselves as a result of metal poisoning;

  • Allergies (environmental and food sensitivities)
  • Anxiousness and irratibility
  • Inability to lose weight
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Depression
  • Digestive problems
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Frequent colds and flus
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Night sweats
  • Skin problems

Elimination:

Here are my top three tips for elimination and detoxification;

  1. Drink lots of water – Be sure to drink only purified or filtered water. Water is one of the most important processes in detoxification. It helps every single cell in your body eliminate waste and toxins.
  2. Consider your diet – That old adage, “You are what you eat” always rings true, avoid canned foodstuffs in  all forms. Wherever possible prepare a naturally healthy meal, with lots of fresh with lots of organic (beware pesticides) fruits and vegetables. Here are just a few really good super foods that will support heavy metal elimination…
    • Beetroot
    • Citrus
    • Garlic
    • Asparagus
    • Spinach
    • Kale
    • Brazil nuts
  3. Consider a supplement that will help you break down heavy metals. Cellgevity chelates heavy metals, it stimulates the production of glutathione which breaks heavy metals down. FIND OUT MORE.

Going Green

March 8, 2015 by Tracy

Over the last few years I have embarked on a journey reading, researching and learning wonderful information that offers the keys to help prevent and heal cancer.  There is a growing movement of highly regarded and intelligent people leading this crusade around the world and sharing their discoveries with others.

I am a great believer that nature has given us some wonderful gifts to help heal, and this belief has only been instilled further, since I have begun to discover more about the use of CBD-rich cannabis oil to treat cancer.

Cannabis

Despite it’s reputation as a “hippy” drug of the 1960s, cannabis, one of the world’s most powerful healing plants has been around for thousands of years. Ancient Chinese physician, Hua Tuo, who lived in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, is credited for its first recorded medicinal use as an anaesthetic. As well as this use in Ancient China, there is also recorded evidence of medicinal use in Ancient Egypt, India, Greece and the Medieval Islamic world.

More recently research has shown that Cannabis Oil can work to kill cancer cells. Cannabinoids may cause antitumor effects by various mechanisms, including induction of cell death, inhibition of cell growth, and inhibition of tumor angiogenesis invasion and metastasis. Read more on the research HERE.

One of the people I am most looking forward to hearing speak at the Integrated Health Conference in San Diego is Constance Finley. Following her own struggle with an undiagnosed autoimmune condition, research into alternative medicine led her to discover the medicinal and life-changing properties of cannabis oil.

Constance has since developed her own product now known as “Constance Pure Botanical Extracts.” She established her business, Constance Pure Botanical Extracts, and started to grow, manufacture and process a pure product made with sustainably and lovingly grown whole plant medicine.

Many well-known integrative oncologists now refer hundreds of patients to her for treatment and today two different groups of doctors are researching her oil.

Today I ask one thing of you, open your mind to possibilities, it is only through doing this that we discover the full potential of our planet, our peers and ourselves.

My goal to help you…

February 23, 2015 by Tracy

At the end of last year I wrote a post about “Goal Setting and Taking Control of your Life”.

My number one tip was to set a goal that really motivates you and that’s something I held in my mind when I set my personal goals for 2015. For several years now I have felt compelled to help in the fight against cancer prevention and healing.

Quantum University

Quantum University

My number two tip was to set a goal that is specific. My goal is to help you understand how to prevent and fight cancer by investing in my own continued education. I’ve hit the ground running in 2015!

  • At the end of this month I’m looking forward to attending a cancer coaching event “Truly Heal a 2 day workshop on how to prevent & reverse cancer and many other degenerative diseases with a very powerful step by step program”.
  • Less than a month later I’m attending the “Integrated Health Conference – Inspiring and engaging education, dedicated to preventing, healing and reversing cancer and other degenerative diseases”.
  • I have also enrolled at the Quantum University, the world’s largest institution of higher learning to provide degrees and certification programs in holistic, alternative, natural, and integrative medicine based on the new emerging science of quantum physics, and have begun my PhD & Doctorate in Natural and Integrative Medicine.

I truly believe the key to fighting cancer is in prevention, but we need to catch up with ourselves, we need to start the reversal process.

As many of you who know me will be aware I have two daughters Lily and Amelia, they are my most precious gift, every day I become more proud of them as they develop into beautiful, kind young women. If you’re a mother you will, I’m sure, feel just like me. We all long to keep those who we love safe and well, and in our home we have a few house goals that we have adopted in our fight against cancer, I thought I would share them with you…

  • We try to stay away from all household and environmental toxins.
    • Pesticides
    • Herbicides
    • Cosmetics
    • Environmental
  • We try to avoid sugar and acid forming foods…. (cancer loves sugar).
  • We take regular exercise.
  • We receive lots of good antioxidants, through our diet and through taking good detoxification supplements, like cellgevity. This ensures our livers are supported to eliminate any toxins we do take in.
  • We sleep well, and we don’t get stressed!

Are you feeling sleepy yet?

January 27, 2015 by Tracy

Wow what a wonderful summer we are having here in Nelson, but is it playing havoc with your sleep? I know that I have been struggling… Body temperature regulates sleep, it’s critical to keep a fairly cool temperature in the room where you normally sleep. At the moment the fan is your friend!

We all know the importance of sleep, but is it really true we need 8 hours a night? Sleep needs vary across ages and can be impacted by lifestyle and health, so whilst 8 hours might be needed by some, others might be quite able to function well on 6.5 hours.

Adequate sleep for you is a contributor to your normal immune function and crucial to cancer control. Poor sleep can interfere with your melatonin production. Melatonin is a potent anti-oxidant free radical scavenger. Lack of sleep also decreases levels of the fat regulating hormone leptin, so you also need your sleep to maintain a healthy body weight.

I discovered this great infographic, which tells you everything you need to know about sleep, (The statistics are from American studies and it is sponsored by a mattress company), nevertheless, the information shared is great.

Scroll through the infographic to find out…

  • What happens when you don’t get enough
  • Sleep related disorders
  • Foods that can cause insomnia
  • What sleep can do for you
  • How to get more sleep
